Tha Last Meal, by Snoop Dogg
Suggested by Andy Devine

The Last Meal is by Snoop Dogg. If you forget this at any point, Snoop Dogg will remind you of his name every fifteen seconds, sometimes precisely spelled out for your convenience. I too will be mentioning Snoop Dogg’s name throughout this review, in case this forgetfulness is contagious. It’s a public service.

Snoop Dogg likes drugs. He sings about them a lot. Snoop Dogg suggests you listen to Tha Last Meal after firing up a blunt. Perhaps this explains his forgetfulness. Poor Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg likes women. Specifically, Snoop Dogg likes having sex with women. In all of Snoop Dogg’s songs, we learn about Snoop Dogg’s constant desire, prowess and exploits with said women. Snoop Dogg is a player. Well done, Snoop Dogg!

Snoop Dogg songs are smooth. The music flows from the basslines, adorned with the tick-click drum sounds that are standard in the genre. Snoop Dogg is more gentle and laid back than other rappers, but this reflects Snoop Dogg’s overall chill vibe. Snoop Dogg is a lover, and not a fighter.

Snoop Dogg isn’t an angry rapper, at least on this album. It’s Snoop Dogg’s fifth, and an apparent return to form after a creative lull. I’m sure after a four-album career, Snoop Dogg has attained all the trappings you’d expect of a famous rapper. It must be hard for Snoop Dogg to remain true to his Gangster roots, but Snoop Dogg tries to keep it real. Well, as real as Snoop Dogg can, in the circumstances.

Snoop Dogg has a lot of friends. He lets them sing and / or produce on many songs. Snoop Dogg’s friends include Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Eve, Kokane, Master P, Nate Dogg, and more! Snoop Dogg is very popular. Nate Dogg sings on Snoop Dogg’s best song on this album: Lay Low. Snoop Dogg is very proud of it.

Snoop Dogg has a classic sound. It’s standard fare, with standard rhymes and beats. Snoop Dogg has a winning formula, which has worked for Snoop Dogg for many years. Aside for Snoop Dogg’s creative lull before Tha Last Meal, but that’s fine. If it’s not broke, Snoop Dogg doesn’t need to fix it.

Snoop Dogg is a caricature. Snoop Dogg is a misogynist. Snoop Dogg is dated. Snoop Dogg is fun, but Snoop Dogg feels irrelevant.

Tha Last Meal gets 5/10, but Snoop Dogg doesn’t care. Snoop Dogg is high, and Snoop Dogg is rich. Nice work, Snoop Dogg.
